Hi! I’m Dearlie (a.k.a. Dee) and I live to dance.

My passion – or probably addiction – to dance all started when I was 8 years old. I used to be a shy kid, choosing to watch school programs rather than participate in it. Luckily, I became close friends with a couple of girls who were crazy for dancing; and they encouraged me to join. Countless nervous school programs later, I discovered ballroom dancing.

I remember it clearly. I just turned 14 and my mom took me to a ballroom dance club. I was amazed at how graceful the ladies moved. I wanted to be like them.

So I devoted hours each week with a dance teacher and before I knew it, I was competing in professional Dancesport competitions all over the world - and I have been for over 15 years now.

I’ve learned a ton in my journey as a dance athlete, and I want to share it all with you through my blog and my dance classes.

The life of a dancer can be so challenging, but nothing could be more rewarding. Whether you are a dance competitor, student, or enthusiast, I hope you will be able to relate and find helpful tips that you can apply to your own dance life.

I’ll be writing all about how dance intersects life. Sign up here to join our community, and receive free tips, inspiration and special offers delivered right to your inbox.

What most people who follow me through dance don’t know is that I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Science! I’m writing all of my experience on that aspect of my career on medium.com/@dearlie. For anyone interested to learn more or are interested in tech, hope you visit my tech blog too!

Happy dancing!

Send me a message – I’ll always write back :)
